Ingredients

1 Cup
hot water
1/4 Teaspoon
salt
1 Tablespoon
olive oil
3/4 Cup
pre-cooked white corn meal
4 Tablespoon
peanut butter
4 Teaspoon
berry jam
4 Cup
strawberries

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the warm water, salt, oil, and pre-cooked white cornmeal flour. Mix well and knead for two minutes with wet hands. Cover with a cloth and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Divide the dough into equal portions using wet hands (every 3/4 cup of white pre-cooked cornmeal will yield 4 arepas). Shape each portion into a ball, then flatten it out to form a disc. Use your fingers to round the edges. Wetting your hands prevents the dough from sticking to your fingers. The arepas should resemble hockey pucks but be a bit thinner.
