Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. / 204 degrees C.

Make the bolognese: In a large deep pot, heat the olive oil. Add the beef and season with a little salt and pepper. Brown the meat and break it into smaller pieces with your spoon until cooked through. This takes about 10 minutes.

Add carrots, onions, and garlic; season with oregano and basil. Saute the vegetables and beef for 5 more minutes. Add spinach and saute one more minute.

Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Mix to combine, Cover the pot and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
